Quite possibly the
coolest thing I've seen all year, and maybe last year as
well (admittedly, I don't get around much...) this is the new
"Fender Phone" from T-Mobile, as currently advertised on television,
and in nearly-identical viral-marketing commercial videos on websites
such as YouTube®, all featuring legendary
rock & roll / rhythm & blues guitarist Eric Clapton. I imagine we'll be seeing even more top musicians
in the advertisements before long. This is going to
big, however limited the edition may be, and it is certain to
become a cherished collector's item.
It has a beautiful
faux wood grain sunburst finish and features the Fender® logo
on the back, along with the MyTouch® "My" logo.
Shown here (and in
the Clapton ads) it has a guitar playing app loaded.
I'm not sure if this is a real application, but I can't
imagine why not. Alas, as it comes in the standard
"candy bar" mobile phone package, it hasn't got a long
enough neck for a fret board, so it has buttons for chords.
I wonder how well the strings function...
There are two
available options, details still vague but which seem to largely depend on how you wish to pay:
in four (4)
monthly payments of $45 US, or twenty (20) installments of $22.50 US.
It seems like a no-brainer to me, although I suppose many
drummers might find it confusing...
Data service costs
extra, but yes, it is a true 3g instrument, allowing you to
not only make and receive calls, but to text message and
browse the Internet as well.
I'm trying to find/generate
information about
wholesale pricing and post production modifications
